It is not all too often that someone from the Closutton camp comes out and talks extremely highly of a horse, but Patrick Mullins certainly didn’t mince his words when talking about stable star Appreciate It on At The Races yesterday.

Mullins was quoted saying: “I love Appreciate It. He’s another one like Allaho and Energumene, he just catches the eye. He’s so big and so strong. He could be as good as anything in the yard.”

Where will Appreciate It line up?

Appreciate It is currently a 6-1 chance for the Arkle Novices’ Chase and is also currently 5-1 for the Turners Novices’ Chase. As you can tell from he provided odds, nobody really knows for sure yet where this big beast of a horse is going to line up at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

Patrick Mullins was also quoted saying that Appreciate It would be equally effective over three miles as he would two miles. He clearly has a high enough cruising speed over larger obstacles but it was evident when he ran over hurdles that he would make a staying chaser one day.

If I had to put my money on it right now, I think Appreciate It will turn up in the Turners. Willie Mullins already has the speedy Dysart Dynamo for the Arkle among others so there is no point running two monsters against each other. Of the pair, Appreciate It is the one who would appreciate further.
