The Racing League comes to a conclusion at Southwell on Thursday and we’ll find out which of teams will come out on top. London & The South could be hard to catch with their sizable lead but anything can happen. All seven races will be live on ITV so Liam Bramall has selected three outsiders to follow. They include a dangerously overlooked 20/1 shot in the finale and a big run is expected. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Catalyse (16/1, bet365) has only had three starts in handicap company so far and has struggled with his rating. There were some much more positive sings at Haydock last time and another 3lb drop in the weights will help. A winner on debut last season, he then wasn’t disgraced in the Coventry Stakes, despite only finishing in mid-division. It’s only a matter of time before he’s down to winnable mark and it should be sooner rather than later.
Naepoint (14/1, Betfred) progressed nicely in handicaps for previous connections last term, winning three handicaps over a mile. That includes a cosy success off a 5lb lower mark at Redcar in October and he remains lightly raced. Appearing to need the run when disappointing in the Spring Mile on seasonal debut, the four-year-old is capable of much better.
The Bell Conductor has some excellent form to his name and he absolutely loves it here. Ivan Furtado’s gelding is a four-time course winner and he has fallen to a nice mark. He won over course and distance off a 2lb lower mark in January 2024 and a similar performance here would give him every chance. It might be dangerous to underestimate the eight-year-old and he should go well here.
