‘Group race form is hard to ignore’ – 25/1, 16/1 and 14/1 Racing League outsiders

Not everyone is a fan of the Racing League but it does add an element of interest to the mid-week racing with something a little different. It continues at Windsor on Thursday and all seven races are live on ITV. Liam Bramall has selected four outsiders at 25/1, 16/1, 16/1 and 14/1 who are more than capable of outrunning their significant prices. Reddeef (14/1, bet365) was staying on well when a narrow second in a 7f handicap at Kempton in October so it’s confusing that he’s been running over shorter this season. Trying a mile for the first time here, this trip could be much more suitable and he’s clearly competitive off this mark.

6.30 Windsor

Zoulu Chief (16/1, bet365) won a Racing League nursery over course and distance last term and that form gives him every chance, now on a 5lb lower mark. Heather Main’s gelding has been a little disappointing in two starts this season but the handicapper has responded and he can get back on track.

7.30 Windsor

Burj Zabeel (25/1, bet365) remains very lightly raced and he was a cosy winner of a 1m4f maiden at Haydock in June. Charlie Johnston’s three-year-old has been a touch disappointing in two handicap starts but the handicapper is relenting. This regally bred son of Kingman is yet to reach his full potential.

8.00 Windsor

Mirabeau (16/1, bet365) was only beaten by three lengths in the Horris Hill Stakes last term and Group race form is hard to ignore. He’s been dropped 3lb since finishing down the field in a much better race at York last month and this could be a good opportunity to return to winning ways.
