Gordon Elliott bids to follow up Perth double with another one on Thursday 🐎

Gordon Elliott had two winners at Perth towards the end of June, giving him a grand total of eight winners at the Scottish track so far this season. Those have come from just 21 runners, which gives him an excellent strike-rate of 38 per cent.

The brilliant Irish trainer is set to send another two runners over to Perth for their meeting on Thursday. Sean Bowen rode both winners for him last month and will be be on board again here. These two runners combine into a 23-1 double, which has to go under careful consideration. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

2.18 Perth

Nottodaybobo (11-4, bet365) may well have needed the run on hurdles debut at Punchestown last month, as it was his first start for 266 days. He showed plenty in bumpers, placing in three of his four starts in that sphere. There’s plenty of evidence in his pedigree to suggest the step up to 2m4f will suit and he should strip much fitter this time around. There are plenty of fellow Irish raiders in this race and Elliott’s charge should be there or thereabouts.

3.18 Perth

Fruit Blossom (11-2, bet365) won over hurdles at Wexford in May, over this trip. She followed that up with a good effort in a fair race at Ballinrobe next time and finished fourth. Disappointing at Downpatrick last time out, she made little impression and finished down the field. This is her chasing debut and Yeats’ progeny tend to improve for fences. If she takes well to fences here, we could see significant improvement and it would be no surprise to see her make a winning start over the larger obstacles.
