Going for Gold: Adrian Wall’s Friday Cheltenham Lucky 15 could return £964,000

Cheltenham Racecourse

Adrian Wall knows how to spot a big priced winner and is back with four tasty selections for Gold Cup day at the Cheltenham Festival. The four horses could return a whopping £964,000 if they all won at the time of posting for a £0.50p each-way unit stake.

1.55 Cheltenham

Anna Bunina (66-1 at the time of posting) is trained by the underestimated trainer John McConnell. Coming into this week, he had a 75 per cent strike-rate at Cheltenham this season. Some Neck ran a corker to finish third in the Cross Country Chase and this girl is not without a chance either. She will be flying fit from spins on the Flat and is running off a very workable mark.

2.30 Cheltenham

Racheal Blackmore is having a week she will never forget and will ride Pats Fancy (40-1 at the time of posting) in the Albert Bartlett. Rebecca Curtis’ runner is pitched in at the deep end here after a poor showing when pulled up at Doncaster when last seen. He is best judged on his prior effort over track and trip when runner-up in the trial for this in December. A repeat could see him hit the frame at large odds.

3.05 Cheltenham

Native River (14-1 at the time of posting) is far too big a price to ignore for the feature Gold Cup. The 11-year-old certainly has age against him but was better than ever when beating Bristol De Mai by nearly 10 lengths in the Cotswold Chase. A bold front-running sort, the 2018 winner comes here fresh and may well have a big say in the race.

3.40 Cheltenham

Wishing And Hoping (40-1 at the time of posting) was beaten 17 lengths by Bob And Co when the pair met at Haydock last month. The ground was very heavy on the day though and he just didn’t get through it. Back on better ground, he is going to get much closer to Paul Nicholls’ runner. Bryony Frost takes the ride which can only be a plus.
