Gamble at Navan: runner backed from 20-1 into 13-2 on handicap debut

Navan Racecourse

Our resident horse racing man Adrian Wall has always been an avid market watcher. He has spotted a pretty large ongoing gamble taking place at Navan Racecourse today. Our free horse racing tips are also available every single day and we have been in good form the past month. Let’s take a closer look at the big gamble in more detail below.

5.10 Navan

Red Trail on paper should take a lot of beating in this competitive handicap, but right at the top of the weights, the Darren Bunyan trained Tasayad has been subject to sustained market support this morning, backed from 20-1 into 13-2 on his handicap debut.

The son of Sepoy has been down the field in maiden company in three career starts to date, but he showed a bit more promise last time out when eighth of 10 runners at Killarney, only beaten about five lengths for a finish when having to contend with a terrible draw out in the car park in stall ten.

Connections have clearly targeted handicaps as for all he was backed at big prices the last day, this is the first day that proper support has come for him. An opening mark of 65 could prove to be very lenient for a horse who has so much untapped potential and promising claimer young Curran takes a further 4lb off in the saddle.

The step back up to 1m2f should suit this horse and a middle draw in stall 10 seems perfectly fine as he has plenty of options from there. Best of luck if you have a play and remember to always gamble responsibly.
