It’s all happening on Tuesday with multiple market moves happening throughout the morning so far. Perhaps the most significant of these is taking place in the opening race at Southwell on Tuesday evening. Tony Carroll’s runner has been catapulted into favouritism having been available at a double figure price the evening before. It takes some money to cut a horse’s price in half and especially if it propels them to the head of the market. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing. Voltaic (4-1, bet365) is the horse in question and there are no signs of the support waning. Having been 10-1 on Monday evening, only one bookie is standing firm with the 4-1 and the majority are 7-2. All support for the others at the top of the market has stopped amidst a sea of red on Oddschecker.
The six-year-old gelding’s form has been solid enough lately with two places in his last three starts. This includes a second at Wolverhampton last time out under George Downing who is again on board. He appears off the same mark here which suggests he’s more than capable of running his race off this mark.
Carroll’s charge’s last victory came off a 2lb higher mark at Wolverhampton in February. Therefore the handicapper shouldn’t be on top of him and return to the winners’ enclosure is long overdue. As he’s well-treated and popular in the market, it could prove to be a bold move to take him on.
