There’s plenty of racing to look forward to across Britain and Ireland on Thursday and that means lots of each-way opportunities. Liam Bramall has had a good look through the cards and there’s one outsider that stands out from the rest. The horse in question is available at massive odds and looks more than capable of outrunning them by some way. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Desert Raider has already won twice and he looks well treated enough to do so again here. Ian McInnes’ three-year-old has been a bit of a mixed bag since joining the yard but there have been a couple of promising recent efforts worth taking note of.
It appears that he’s been priced up on the evidence of two below par efforts over 6f and 7f, when his best form has come over a mile. He was an easy winner off just a 1lb lower mark for previous connections at Lingfield in January and frankly this looks like a ridiculous price on that evidence.
The son of advertise made virtually all of the running and went clear in the last couple of furlongs. His rivals had no answer and that performance resulted in a cosy two-and-a-half-length victory. That success certainly wasn’t missed by the handicapper, who whacked him with a 6lb rise. Added to that, the handicapper has been slow to relent, but he’s surely back down to a competitive mark now.
Charlie Johnston’s Etretat looks like one of the main dangers, alongside the solid Due Consideration and Triple Force. Desert Raider is capable of coming out on top if putting his best foot forward and can at least make the frame.
