Four years ago a myracing follower won £250k – can we do it again?

Wesley Ward Royal Ascot

The 19th of May 2017 is a day that we will never ever forget here at myracing.com. It was the day we landed our biggest ever bet, an each-way Lucky 31 and all five runners won.

One lucky punter was brave enough to follow the bet and ended up with returns of €250,000. It would have been a lot more but for the maximum payout rules but nonetheless it was a life-changing sum of money.

I am going to attempt to repeat the feat with an each-way Lucky 31 bet for Thursday’s action. Remember, this is a bit of fun so you should always bet responsibly and only spend what you can afford to lose.

1.45 Market Rasen

Major Snugfit could be good enough to hit the frame here for Rebecca Menzies. Both of his wins have come at Beverley on the level but he crossed the line in first at Sedgefield last September, only for the race to be taken off him in a photo. Can go well.

2.45 Lingfield

This is a low grade handicap over 1m6f and one at a price that I like is Great Hall. The 11-year-old has not tasted victory since 2018 but has ran well at this track a couple of times in the past. A mark of 58 is well within his compass looking at the pick of his form.

3.10 Tipperary

Big improvement can be expected from Henry de Bromhead’s Cot Knapping, who has just had the two starts to date without threatening. Seven-pound claimer Daniel Holden rode the mare for her first two outings so the booking of Sean Flanagan is interesting.

5.05 Chelmsford

Tom Marquand is a very eye-catching booking aboard Michael Wigham’s Bartat. The filly bolted up on her only start at this track which was over this distance and she is now 3lb lower in the weights.

5.40 Chelmsford

Ralph Beckett is a genius with fillies and his runner here, Abstinence, can be expected to improve dramatically from first to second start. She ran a respectable race at Lingfield on debut in December and should be a different prospect now.
