Four Newmarket trainers are set to send runners up to Thirsk in Yorkshire on Monday. It’s a 371-mile round trip and the three trainers will be looking for some compensation. William Haggas, Ismail Mohammed and Roger Varian are sending one runner apiece, whilst George Boughey sends two. When four of these runners are combined, they form a juicy 63-1 accumulator. 2.30 Thirsk

Je Ne Sais Quoi (11-8, bet365) put in a decent effort in a warm race over 5f at Ascot on debut, finishing third. The manner in which she kept on that day suggests the step up to 6f here will suit. It would be reasonable to expect plenty of improvement, as she would have learnt plenty last time out and this race looks distinctly winnable.

3.00 Thirsk

Tyndrum Gold (5-2, bet365) Tyndrum Gold is unbeaten in two starts so far and he was particularly impressive in the second of those two Kempton wins. Winning a novice race under a penalty is always a good sign but it’s an even better one when you do it by almost three lengths. Aidan Keeley takes 5lb off here and this horse should be a class above his opposition.

4.30 Thirsk

Lady Rascal (8-11, bet365) got a confidence-boosting win under her belt at Salisbury in Classified Stakes company last time out. She returns to handicap company here off a 5lb higher mark but she’s lightly raced and there should be plenty of improvement to come. The 15lb weight for age allowance will certainly come in handy also.

5.35 Thirsk

Desert Illusion (7-2, bet365) put in a career-best effort when second in a handicap at Bath last time out. The handicapper responded by dropping her a pound and she should be capable of building on that run. She’ll be suited by the good to firm going here and further improvement could be on the cards, with a useful claimer taking 5lb off.
