1.50 Plumpton

Marmalaid showed significant improvement for Champion Hurdle-winning trainer Nicky Henderson on her second start over hurdles, having been a disappointing eighth and beaten by 37 lengths on her debut over timber. She got off the mark in good style at Ffos Las last time out, winning by eight lengths. It has to be said that the form isn’t the strongest but she’s likely to improve again and will prove hard to beat of doing so.

1.55 Clonmel

Nevendon runs for Festival Plate-winner John McConnell and is a maiden over hurdles after nine starts. He has put in some more than reasonable efforts in that time, including at Limerick last time out in another claiming hurdle. Having faded before the last that day, the drop back in trip should suit. This horse looks capable of winning over hurdles and this could be the day for him.

3.25 Wetherby

Hartur D’Oudairies runs for Coral Cup and County Hurdle-winning trainer Dan Skelton. He looked like a useful sort when winning nicely at Warwick on hurdles debut. Despite being a tad disappointing since, he’s lightly raced, unexposed and looks ready to return to winning ways. This looks like a good opportunity and the Skelton brothers have an excellent record at Wetherby so far this season.

5.10 Wetherby

Doc McCoy‘s trainer Jamie Snowden won the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham last week. This horse has put in two solid efforts in bumpers, since easily winning his sole point-to-point start. He deserves to get his head in front and this is perhaps his best opportunity to date, now dropping into Class 5 company.
