Four horses trained by Iain Jardine smashed up in the betting

Iain Jardine

Trainer Iain Jardine has four runners out today, three at Carlisle and one at Redcar. All four runners have seen significant market support overnight and the bookies are running scared. Read on to find out more about the four runners in question.

Tomily 1.35 Carlisle

Backed from 16-1 overnight into a current price of 10-3, the seven-year-old gelding is now running off a very attractive rating of 66. Considering he was rated as high as 104 when trained by Richard Hannon, could today finally be the day? Ground, trip and overall conditions are fine.

Jump The Gun 2.45 Carlisle

Very consistent gelding who has yet to win for the stable but has been the model of consistency in defeat. Ran with promise when third at Hamilton earlier this month, hitting a low of 2.62 in-running, travelling well for a long way. Looks sure to improve on that now. Backed from 10-1 into 11-4.

Wiganese 3.40 Redcar

Iain Jardine is not known for his debut winners, training no newcomer to victory from 55 attempts since 2015. There is plenty to like about his speedy pedigree however, so if he is ready to go he is interesting. It is a bit of a shot in the dark but the market would suggest that this horse is going to run a belter at the first time of asking, backed from 16-1 into 2-1.

Flood Defence 5.00 Carlisle

Backed from 12-1 into the current price of 3-1 and owned by Let’s Be Lucky Racing who also own Jump The Gun, the seven-year-old has crucial course and distance winning experience. Although she isn’t exactly well treated on the pick of her form and arguably would prefer more of a test, it has to be telling that she has been so significantly supported.
