Four fast ground specialists form massive 277-1 accumulator on Friday ⚡

Nottingham Racecourse

The drought continues across Britain with no rain in sight. This means conditions at British racecourses are very fast with limited watering available. The current going description for both afternoon flat meetings on Friday at Newbury and Nottingham is good to firm. With that in mind, Liam Bramall has picked out four horses across both meetings with proven form on ground which is good to firm or faster. 2.20 Nottingham

Dusky Prince (9-2, William Hill) has an impressive record on good to firm ground as all three of his turf wins have come under these conditions. This equates to a 50 per cent win record and 66 per cent win and place. He was fourth at Goodwood last time after back-to-back wins. Silky Wilkie finished in front of him that day and re-opposes here off 2lb worse terms which should shift the balance in Dusky Prince’s favour.

3.25 Nottingham

Red Force One (9-2, William Hill) couldn’t be in better form having racked up a hat-trick of wins in his last three. Despite that, the gelding is still rated 1lb lower than when winning off 81 last April. Philip Kirby’s charge has won four times on good to firm ground and has an unblemished record when the going is firm. All of this bodes well for a big run from this in-form horse.

4.10 Newbury

Persian Royal (5-2, William Hill) is progressing nicely as a three-year-old. Having won his last two starts, he goes for the hat-trick here. Harry and Roger Charlton’s gelding scored at Doncaster and Sandown which provides him with a 100 per cent record on good to firm ground. Combining his unblemished record with his progressive profile should be a winning combination.

4.40 Newbury

Tele Red (13-8, William Hill) got off the mark at the 14th time of asking last time out. That was a cosy victory by three-and-a-half lengths. Reappears here under a 5lb penalty and that extra weight wouldn’t have stopped him that day. This looks like a good opportunity to win again as his four best runs have all come on good to firm ground.
