First up is Ravanelli, who runs in the opening 2m junior hurdle for trainer Jennie Candlish. Sent off a short enough price on debut when third in a bumper at Newcastle in November, he’s going to have to improve a good bit to win this but he’s not without a chance.

Next up is City Derby in the 2m4f handicap hurdle, and this horse has to have a squeak. He won a handicap at Wetherby last April and always runs consistently, second at Perth when last seen in September. The break should have freshened him up and he can go well.

3.20 Ludlow

One for you Scousers as Youlneverwalkalone takes his chance in the 2m5f maiden hurdle for trainer Fergal O’Brien. This boy ran well in bumpers at Huntingdon and Warwick last year and the money is coming which is interesting.

3.55 Ludlow

Big Ange of Spurs got his season off to a flyer and the horse may well do the same thing on her debut for the Twiston-Davies stable. The yard does very well with bumper runners in general and they are having a great season thus far, so she has to be respected in this.
