Five horses away from the Grade 1s to put in your multiples on Boxing Day 5️⃣ 🎄

All of the focus and attention will be on the Grade 1s in Britain and Ireland on Boxing Day, and rightly so. However, there’s plenty more action to look forward to, and Adrian Wall has picked out five under the radar horses that he recommends thinking about for your multiple bets. Let’s take a look at the five in more detail.

Fil Dor
1.10 Leopardstown

Gordon Elliott’s exciting three-year-old beat subsequent Ascot Listed winner Sea Sessions by 16 lengths on Irish debut. That has turned out to be very good form and he went on to land a Grade 3 at Fairyhouse in November. He was given a proper race by the reopposing Lunar Power but did it despite good ground, which he disliked. If it doesn’t dry out here, he should win.

Schone Aussicht
2.08 Limerick

Proven on heavy ground which is always a positive around Limerick at Christmas time as the track is bog-like in the winter and only those who love the mud will get home. She bolted up in a mares maiden hurdle here in May over 2m3f and was just in need of the run on her comeback at Punchestown earlier in the month. Big chance.

Lake View Lad
2.10 Wetherby

Third in this race two years ago, Lake View Lad can race here from a 6lb lower mark. Although he is now an 11-year-old, he still has plenty of life in him yet and he has a brilliant record at the track that includes a win in this race previously. He was given a lovely prep for this race at Haydock earlier in the month and should be much sharper now.

Exit Poll
2.55 Leopardstown

Exit Poll has a tough task off top weight but Jack Foley will take off a valuable 5lb and he is a fairly classy type who won a Grade 3 at Roscommon in September and again ran well in similar company at Punchestown in October. He has winning course and distance form and should be bang there.

Spycatcher
3.35 Wolverhampton

Moving away from the jumps action, I think Spycatcher will take all the beating on the all-weather at Wolverhampton. He ran well enough in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot in the summer and went on to land a conditions race at Newmarket impressively in October. Narrowly defeated at Lingfield last time, he is a big player back in handicap company.
