Course form can be absolutely crucial when looking for a winner. If you know your way around a place, you are going to have an advantage over somebody who has never been there before. The same applies to horses – knowing your way around a venue is always a big advantage. Adrian Wall has picked out three former course winners running at Royal Ascot live on ITV on Saturday.
We landed a tasty 67/1 treble at Ascot a while back and this week’s treble returns great odds at the time of posting. Best of luck if you have a play.
Kia Joorabchian some might say has lost his marbles again as Amo Racing have splashed a staggering £2million on Ghostwriter. It’s some amount of money to pay for a horse who didn’t win a race in 2024, but he ran at Group 1 level every time and wasn’t disgraced largely, placing in both the Eclipse and Juddmonte International. He had a good prep for this with a fourth in the Dubai Turf but blew out at the Curragh when last seen. This is a good drop in class and he’s a former winner here.
Inisherin won the Group 2 Sandy Lane before tasting success at Group 1 level when landing the Commonwealth Cup at this festival a year ago. Right back to his best when landing the Duke of York Stakes on his return on the back of wind surgery. Should take some beating.
Jarraaf improved greatly last year, winning twice over this C&D in the summer. He needed the run after an absence when fourth in a 6f Listed contest at Salisbury four weeks ago and should be primed for this now.
