Adrian Wall is back with his weekly feast of ITV Racing outsiders and he has picked out three horses who should outrun their large odds on Saturday. Make sure you check out our free horse racing tips for the weekend, and remember, always bet responsibly.
Trainer Fergal O’Brien is in good form this month, having the first and second in the Grade 2 bumper at Aintree and landing two good handicaps at Cheltenham this week. He runs Young Buster (16/1) here who looks overpriced at first glance. A winner over hurdles, this boy has been very progressive over larger obstacles, landing the hat-trick in a five-runner handicap at Kelso over 2m6f at Christmas. Given he went up 21lb in the weights, he ran well when third at Doncaster and might improve again.
Ginger Mail (25/1) only found the reopposing Cracking Rhapsody too good in the Morebattle Hurdle at Kelso when last seen, but he has a 9lb swing in the weights with that rival if you factor in the rider’s 3lb claim and that might be enough to give him leading claims in this. He handles ground with soft in the description and definitely looks too big a price on all known form.
This is a real shot in the dark but Whistleinthedark (100/1) could be worthy of a small investment in the Scottish National. Laura Morgan’s horse disappointed in the Kim Muir at Cheltenham last month, but he is now back down to his last winning mark of 138 so he is handicapped to strike. The main concern is the trip which is an unknown but if he stays he has a squeak.
