Adrian Wall is out resident market watcher, regularly picking out some fascinating gambles and highlighting them on the site. It’s my turn today, as my attention has been drawn to the concluding race at Fairyhouse.
A runner in the Racing Again January 15th INH Flat Race at 3:50pm has been subject of huge support. Opening up at 33-1 last night, he’s now 8-1, and the support continues to be steadily coming in. You can find all the details below on this plunge, and whether I think the money is well-placed.
The runner in question hails from the in-form Robert Tyner stable. Based in County Cork, he’s sent out 15 runners in the last two weeks, with four of them returning to the winner’s enclosure. That’s a very healthy 27% strike-rate and Passing Well looks to enhance that recent record.
We’ve seen him on the racetrack just once, where he was beaten 53 lengths in a Naas maiden hurdle in December. Making mistakes, his rider wasn’t harsh on him once his chance was gone, and he’s clearly capable of better with that experience under his belt.
He’s now makes his bumper debut and given the way he jumped his hurdles on debut, that should help matters. As previously mentioned, the stable is in much better form now and his rider removes a very handy seven pounds from his back.
The two runners in front of him in the market both lack experience, which certainly plays into his favourite, and the disparity between the three at the head of affairs does seem very harsh. Currently available at 8-1, with three places on offer, he’s a strong each-way bet.
