Exeter Outsiders: Bank on major improvement from Tizzard runner on Wednesday

Adrian Wall is back with his weekly feast of horse racing outsiders and he has picked out three horses who should outrun their large odds at Exeter on Wednesday. We have plenty of races to look forward to on terrestrial TV on Saturday, the pick of those being at the Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown and Cheltenham Trials weekend at Musselburgh. Make sure you check out all of our tips for the big meetings on our free horse racing tips page.

3.45 Exeter

In the extended 2m5f maiden hurdle, a chance is taken on Joe Tizzard’s Sparkling Duke to improve massively on what we have seen of him thus far. He is a half-brother to five different winners, including the decent chaser Wounded Warrior. Despite disappointing in a Taunton bumper on debut, he ran an eyecatching race when fourth in a hot maiden hurdle at Aintree in October behind Inthewaterside and could be better than we think.

4.15 Exeter

There’s a lot to like about how Jonjo O’Neill has fared this season and he has another potentially well handicapped type in the shape of Limetree Boy in the 2m3f handicap chase. The form winning hurdler has had his issues and was in need in the run after 11 months off the track at Leicester this month. If he can recapture his old form, he is a major player.

4.45 Exeter

Jane Williams’ Honneur D’Ajonc can surprise a few in closing 2m7f handicap hurdle. He is much better than his current rating of 118 if he can run anywhere close to his best back over hurdles after a spell chasing. He hasn’t been in form but he’s dangerous to rule out.
