Cheltenham Festival: Four major JP McManus chances form Lucky 15 on Day 2

Wednesday marks Day 2 of the Cheltenham Festival and there’s another seven unbelievable races to look forward to. JP McManus is one of the sport’s biggest owners and his green and gold-hooped colours are recognisable anywhere. Wednesday could be a cracking day for him so we’ve combined four of his best chances into a Lucky 15. Check out our free tips page to find a tip for every race of the Festival.

2.10 Cheltenham

Fact To File has looked awesome in his last two starts over fences. Connections made the interesting decision to skip hurdles and go straight to the larger obstacles and it’s easy to see why. This horse is a powerful traveller and an excellent jumper, which is a winning combination. He made Gaelic Warrior look average last time out and is probably the one to beat on that evidence.

2.50 Cheltenham

Sa Majeste was a nightmare for the handicapper to assess and his allotted mark of 140 is an absolute guess. Willie Mullins’ six-year-old is very lightly raced and he could have any amount in hand, making his handicap debut here. It’s difficult to argue with his placement at the head of the market and he falls firmly into the ‘could be anything’ category.

3.30 Cheltenham

Gentleman De Mee is a very talented horse on his day and he managed to beat Edwardstone at Aintree as a novice. Willie Mullins’ gelding also scored at the Dublin Racing Festival in 2023 and although he hasn’t been in the best of form so far this season, he’s more than capable of getting into the mix here.

4.50 Cheltenham

Saint Roi has struggled a little bit in Grade 1 races so far this season and the return to handicap company should be in his favour. Third in last year’s Arkle and the 2022 Champion Hurdle, he was an easy winner of the County Hurdle as a novice and his Cheltenham Festival record indicates that another big run could be on the cards here.
