‘Cheltenham brings out the best in him’ – Saturday ITV horses for courses Lucky 15

Cheltenham and Doncaster host the ITV action for Saturday and the likes of Sir Gino and Grey Dawning will be out on show. Course form is always worth considering, especially at Cheltenham, so we’ve picked out four runners with proven track records and combined them into a Lucky 15. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

1.15 Cheltenham

Jagwar has an excellent course record and Cheltenham clearly brings out the best in him. Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero’s gelding was a very smart novice chaser last term and he even managed to win at the Cheltenham Festival. Third over course and distance on seasonal debut, he’ll improve for that and further progress is anticipated.

1.30 Doncaster

Irish raider Jetara won this very race last year and James Bowen returns to take the ride once again. She was a respectable fourth in the Mares’ Hurdle at Cheltenham and finished third in two Grade 1 staying races in the spring. Jessica Harrington’s mare should be very competitive here.

2.05 Doncaster

Docpickedme has had five previous starts at Doncaster and has three wins and a second to his name. The 10-year-old won over course and distance last time out and won this very race off just a 2lb lower mark last year. Having won already this season too, he looks potentially very well treated.

3.35 Cheltenham

Ma Shantou appears to like it here at Cheltenham, as he has won two competitive handicap hurdles here already this season. His only defeat here came in the Albert Bartlett and although the step up in grade is significant, he’ll be staying on strongly at the business end of the race.
