Boxing Day TV Tips: myracing fancy JP McManus to have a massive day 📺 💚 💛

Epatante - Cheltenham Champion Hurdle 2020 (JG)

Arguably the biggest day of the year for horseracing and football lovers alike. Make sure you check out our ITV Racing multiples for the action at Wetherby and Kempton. Also, we have two fantastic new customer offers for the King George, both highlighted below.

1.20 Kempton

A mistake at the last cost JACAMAR a win at Wincanton last time out, beaten just a head from a two-pound lower mark than this. That sharp, right-handed track sees him to best effect so this first try over obstacles at Kempton should be fine for him. This is a workable mark on the pick of his form and connections fit cheekpieces for the first time to help him concentrate. He has quickly made up into a better chaser than hurdler after just three starts and should still have a little more to come.

1.55 Kempton

The betting suggests that this is a two horse race and it does look as if that is very much the case. Seven lengths separated AHOY SENIOR and Bravemansgame when they clashed at Aintree in April, the pair both impressive winners since sent chasing. Each look like being a far better chaser than hurdler and while connections believe that the runner-up that day was not at his best that day, he has to show that here as the tip beat him fair and square to us.

2.10 Wetherby

TOP VILLE BEN had jumped the National fences superbly until making a mistake and taking a heavy fall halfway through the Becher Chase. He has tanked through with plenty of enthusiasm up to that point, shaping as if coming back to form. The last time he took a tumble, he reappeared at this track just six days later when absolutely bolting up. Wetherby has been a very happy hunting ground for him in the past, three wins in five previous runs over fences here, his two defeats both coming in the Grade 2 Charlie Hall. He bolted up in the 2019 renewal of this race from four pounds higher so he is well capable from this mark.

2.30 Kempton

EPATANTE travelled all over them in the Fighting Fifth on her return to action, perhaps a touch disappointing there when only dead-heating with Not So Sleepy. Tacky ground and going on from two out weren’t ideal for her so she is worth persevering with given that her other rivals here have far more to prove than she does at present. Nico de Boinville takes the ride on her for the first time and his quiet style should be suitable for her.

3.05 Kempton

A single-figure field but it is very much a case of quality over quantity with a pair of past winners of this race as well as the defending Cheltenham Gold Cup winner. Despite those, it is the second season chaser CHANTRY HOUSE who makes most appeal. He has fewer miles on the clock over fences than these and as such still has the most potential for better to come. He has shown improved form since stepped up to three miles and with a 2/2 record right-handed to boot, he should have this perfectly run to suit and can step up again.
