‘Back to the bread and butter’ – Oisin Murphy Sunday Lucky 15 at Nottingham 🍞

Oisin Murphy is riding out of his skin since his return to action after a suspension and the star rider heads to Nottingham Racecourse on Sunday for four good rides. We have put all four of his chances into a Lucky 15 which can be backed at the top of the page.

3.15 Nottingham

Murphy has a 24 per cent return at Nottingham in the last five years and he bids to enhance that with Finery, who is trained by Mick Appleby. This mare won at Southwell in January and although she is much better on an artificial surface, she can race from a much lower mark back on grass.

3.45 Nottingham

Saeed Bin Suroor is in good form in Britain and Murphy rode Mawj to victory in the 1000 Guineas for the yard last month. They team up with Major Partnership here, who hasn’t won in Britain since 2018 but has done the majority of his running over in the Middle East. The market will give the best clue to his chances but he is interesting.

4.15 Nottingham

Milvus has shown pretty much zilch in four starts to date but he could be a different proposition on his second handicap start with Murphy booked for the ride. He was nibbled at big prices when down the field at Bath on handicap debut but can race from 2lb lower now.

4.45 Nottingham

Flag Of Truth ran a shocker of a race at Newbury when last seen but he is best judged on his penultimate run when going down narrowly at Newcastle in the hands of Hollie Doyle. It remains to be seen whether he can match that form on turf.
