Aintree Saturday outsiders: three to follow including a 125/1 Grand National runner

We are back with our weekly feast of ITV Racing outsiders and we have picked out three horses who should outrun their large odds on Saturday at the Aintree Grand National Festival, including a 125/1 shout in the Grand National itself. Make sure you check out our free horse racing tips for the weekend, and remember, always bet responsibly.

1.20 Aintree

Trainer Rebecca Menzies is in sublime form at present and FLOUEUR (66/1) should run a good race at a huge price in the opening handicap hurdle. This horse used to be a decent type when trained by Gordon Elliott and he went close for this stable at Doncaster on his penultimate start at huge odds. He failed to back that up at Uttoxeter but still looks fairly treated and could hit the frame.

Moving on to the stayers’ handicap chase, and Sam England’s course and distance winner KINONDO KWETU (20/1) looks far too big at the prices. He was hugely progressive over fences last season, winning six from eight when scoring over track and trip last May. Well held when pulled up at Cheltenham in October, he comes back fresh and could surprise.

4.30 Aintree

We might get egg on our face here but we are going to have a speculative punt on Willie Mullins’ JANIDIL (125/1), who could be priced accordingly but we are willing to find out. He is a classy horse on his day and although he has never ventured further than three miles, he’s a Grade 1 winner who handles the mud. He needs to prove his stamina of course but we have had a little flutter.
