Aidan O’Brien is flying just one horse over to Newmarket on Sunday morning ✈️

Aidan O’Brien’s travel plans for the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket Racecourse had to be changed due to the king’s coronation which meant that Little Big Bear and Auguste Rodin had to travel over on the Friday. O’Brien usually always flies his horses over the morning of the race. However, Sunday will be back to normal and he sends just one horse over to England on Sunday and she has a massive chance in the 1000 Guineas.

O’Brien has won the 1000 Guineas five times from the last seven renewals which is an outstanding record to say the least. He won the race in recent times with the likes of Minding, Winter, Hermosa, Love and Mother Earth, and he has another potential winner on his hands in the shape of Meditate.

Meditate didn’t look like a horse who would get a mile early last season and she was also put in her place by Tahiyra, who is the current favourite for this race and is trained by Dermot Weld. Nonetheless, she relished the step up to a mile when winning the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf in November.

It’s important not to get too carried away with that as it was a sharp speed track and this will be an entirely different test and will have more of an emphasis on stamina. However, it was striking how well she hit the line on that occasion and there should be much more to come from her this season. At current odds of 4s, she looks a solid bet to us and she is our Nap of the Day on Sunday.
