8.18pm Crayford Race Preview 22/07/2017

The myracing greyhound syndicate will be at Crayford on Saturday night with a pair of runners in action. Both Droopys Dazzle and Droopys Nuka won last week, so move onto the top half of the graded ladder, they will be looking to continue their progress. Our greyhound tips will be up later tonight, for now, let’s take a look at the task that faces Droopys Dazzle.

8.18pm Crayford 22nd July A4 Grade

Galtee Malone – January ’16 pup won an A5 on his debut with a smash break, clocking a more than respectable 23.83. He missed the kick a mile last time out, a typical pup move so it is hard to know exactly what to expect from him now, He is surely capable of better given how unexposed he is, but he will need to be in this field.

Droopys Jimena – Rattled through the grades earlier in the year from A6 to A3, thought good enough to contest the Ladbrokes Puppy Derby at Monmore. She is just a few days away from the ‘magical’ 16 weeks out of season, so should be capable of getting in the mix. She won in A5 earlier in the month, but she could be drawn for early trouble unless she pings the lids.

Blackwater Bruce – Fellow Jim Daly hound, he was an A3 winner just after Christmas. His best runs so far are in the 23.75-23.80 range which might not be quick enough here. He has smart early pace though, a number of sectionals in the 3.50’s, so he will be front rank early on, which is always a huge help at this track.

Fawkham Bugatti – A winner in this grade at the start of June, he has been on a consistent run in the 23.80’s of late. That doesn’t look like it will be quick enough here, with his sectionals not capable of getting him to the front. He will be doing his best work from halfway but he shouldn’t be able to get to them without the helping hand of trouble.

Droopys Dazzle – Really impressive last week when running an A5 field ragged. She has continued to improve her sectionals each time she has hit the track and with little recent early pace either side of her, she could get on the bunny again. Her 23.60 last week would be good enough to win this nine times out of ten so a back to back win with a trophy presentation would come as no surprise.

Anfield Caroline – Just under 15 weeks out of season, so it won’t be long before she too hits the 16 week plateau. She has not rediscovered her trapping boots since returning, a regular under 3.60 before coming into season, including when winning in this grade in 23.55 in February. In the same vein as Dazzle, she was an impressive A5 winner last week, clocking 23.64 calculated. It should be a good battle on the outside for supremacy but she will struggle to give Dazzle a start and a beating.

Conclusion

This will be a good test of where we stand with Dazzle, now into the top half of the grading system. A repeat of her last win would see her home in front tonight, with a draw inside her main danger in 6, forcing that hound the long way round. There isn’t much between them on the clock, but if Dazzle breaks as well as we now know she can, she is going to be difficult to pick up. The other Daly dog in 3 can lead up the inside, which makes him the tricast link.
