5 Saturday Must Have Betting Pointers + a 58/1 Double!

Pinatubo beats Oh Purple Reign and Misty Grey in the Woodcote at Epsom

It’s a busy Saturday of action for our ITV Racing Tips, with nine races covered from three different venues. Beverley, Haydock and Newmarket host the action with some quality juvenile contests at the former, group action in Merseyside and Class 2 Handicaps on the July Course.

ITV Best Bet

The Brian Yeardley Two Year Old Trophy at Beverley has been won by nice some types in recent years, including Prince Of Lir and Cardsharp, who went onto Group 2 successes in the Norfolk Stakes and July Stakes respectively. Richard Hannon may hold the key this campaign with Oh Purple Reign.

A bit of a surprise winner on his debut at 12/1, that form has been franked with the runner up winning since. Oh Purple Reign followed that up with an excellent second in the Woodcote at Epsom, splitting smart winners Pinatubo and Misty Grey. That’s strong, standard setting form in this field and it’ll take a very good one to beat him.

Outsider to Watch

At a big price, Flying Pursuit can outrun his odds at Newmarket with any rain being a massive plus for his chances, as his recent efforts have come on ground faster than ideal.

He hasn’t quite found his form this season yet, but consequently has fallen to a very dangerous mark. Running excellent races and not beaten far in some top races last season off 2lbs higher, including the Ayr Gold Cup, which gives him solid claims if recapturing that form.

Haydock Maestro – *58/1 Double

John Gosden is a force to be reckoned with when sending his horses to Haydock.

Past Year – 19 runners, 6 winners equalling a 32% strike rate with a +£18.78 level stakes profit.

Past 5 Years – 102 runners, 31 winners equalling a 30% strike rate with a +£57.10 level stakes profit.

Magic Murphy

No one has been in better form in the saddle recently than Oisin Murphy, who is giving it everything in search of his first Jockey’s Championship Title.

An incredible 24 winners from 73 rides in the past two weeks, boasting a phenomenal 33% strike rate. This includes a four-timer, five trebles and a double along the way!

He has a full book of rides at Chelmsford today where, to top it off, he has a 27% strike rate in the past year and a +£22.07 level stakes profit!

Back from a break

Owen Burrows has a knack of getting horses in top form following a 60+ day break, with a 28% strike rate and +£49.17 level stakes profit when doing so in the past two years.
