4 Saturday Must Have Betting Pointers + a 224/1 Acca!

Knight To Behold beats Kew Gardens in the Lingfield Derby Trial

Three meetings covered today for our ITV Racing Tips which include Oaks and Derby trials at Lingfield where classic hopefuls will be aiming to lay down their claims for Epsom.

We also have the Victoria Cup at Ascot, which is a seven furlong cavalry charge up the the straight track, as well as a mixed card at Haydock which features a Grade 3 Hurdle as well as a Listed race on the flat!

ITV Best Bet

Today’s most confident selection on the televised action comes in the Group 3 Chartwell Fillies’ Stakes at Lingfield and it’s Pretty Baby.

William Haggas’ prolific filly has four wins to her name from just six runs, including on her only try over this trip where she beat one of today’s rivals. She’s the best horse in the race and given her lightly raced profile, there is every chance she will improve again this year.

Outsider to Watch

Last weeks outsider was a winner at 14/1 so we’re hoping to follow up with George Dryden at another big price this time around.

He has slipped dramatically down the weights, now 11lbs below his last winning mark and he shaped with plenty of promise on his penultimate start, leading us to believe he is nearing a top performance. The fast ground here last time wasn’t ideal and stepping up a furlong on a softer surface could be the key.

Jockey Journey

Pat Cosgrave has had three rides at Haydock so far this season and he has won on all three of them! He travels there for just one ride today aboard Arbalet in the Spring Trophy Stakes.

He has some solid form to his name over seven furlongs including two wins, a fifth in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot as well as placings in a highly competitive handicap and a Group 3. This seems his ideal trip and it’s noteworthy that he’s the jockey’s only ride on the card.

Trainers for Tracks – 224/1 Acca*

William Haggas clearly has a liking for sending his horses to Lingfield as his consistency at the venue over the past five years is exceptional. A 30% strike rate from over 200 runners with a level stakes profit of £32.92 is remarkable.

He sends four runners there today who all look to have very solid claims.
