One of the leading novice hurdlers last season, Thyme Hill won three of his four hurdling starts. That included a Grade 1 victory at Newbury, before a good fourth in the Albert Bartlett at the Festival. He didn’t have the best of passages that day, so it’s an effort that could be upgraded.
He currently sits at 9/2 to make a winning reappearance in the Grade 2 Long Distance Hurdle. Looking further ahead, he’s also a 12/1 chance for the Stayers’ Hurdle. With the potential for further progression this season, if you fancy him winning both, you can get 50/1 for just that with #YourOdds!
Two of the most popular horses running this weekend are Epatante and Honeysuckle. The pair will be hoping for the perfect start to their seasons, as they bid to defend their respective titles back at the Festival in March.
Last year’s Champion Hurdle winner, Epatante, was unbeaten in three starts last term and will bid to repeat the feat this season. The path looks to be clear for her to make a winning return, three pounds clear on ratings while receiving seven pounds from he rivals. As of Thursday evening, she’s a best-priced 8/11 to win the Fighting Fifth.
As for Honeysuckle, she is eight out of eight over hurdles and bids to continue that impressive sequence. It all culminated in landing the Mares’ Hurdle at last year’s Festival and she’s also 8/11 to make a winning seasonal reappearance in the Hatton’s Grace at Fairyhouse.
Do you fancy both of them to win their reappearances and defend their titles at Cheltenham? Using #YourOdds, you can get 33/1 on that happening!
A star in the making?
He came with quite the reputation before he had even hit the course, but Ballyadam lived up to the hype on his hurdling debut. An impressive winner of both a Point to Point and Bumper, he quickened clear smartly to win his debut over timber three weeks ago.
The Grade 1 Royal Bond is next on the agenda and his price for all the Festival races will crumble if he does bolt up against the likes Shewearsitwell and Cask Mate.
Think he’s the real deal? With #YourOdds, you can back him to win both the Royal Bond and any 2021 Festival race at 12/1!
