Kempton Racecourse is a very sharp right-handed course and the draw bias is very pronounced. This is especially the case in races from 5f up to a mile. We have looked for three runners that have the plum draw in stall one on Wednesday. 5.15 Kempton

The William Knight-trained Eagle Creek has to improve on recent efforts but has the rail here to help. A seven-year-old Raven’s Pass gelding, he cut no mustard at Chelmsford last time out but this represents a drop in class. He was only beat three lengths here over a mile last year from 1lb higher so he is weighted to get involved if he can bounce back.

7.15 Kempton

Sir Mark Prescott comes alive in June and July and with the yard in hot form Carpentier is very interesting. The French-bred drops from Class 4 company down to Class 6 so this represents a massive drop in class. He was runner-up over course and distance on his penultimate start and didn’t get home over further last time. Big chance.

7.45 Kempton

Valuable 5lb claimer Saffie Osborne takes the ride on Shaun Keightley’s Fox Leicester over the mile. The Dark Angel gelding didn’t run well at Yarmouth last time out but has dropped 25lb in the weights since he joined this stable so maybe they are planning a little plot, who knows? Interestingly, the visor is on for the very first-time and he has come so far down the weights that he has to be taken extremely seriously in this race.
