3 front runners who can lead them a merry dance at Cartmel form 449-1 accumulator

Cartmel Racecourse

Cartmel is a real front runners track so it generally pays to follow horses who like to take the race by the scruff of the neck. It is a very tight, sharp left-handed oval circuit and it is extremely difficult to make significant ground up from midfield or the rear.

Adrian Wall has studied the card in depth and has come up with three horses who could lead them a merry dance from the front. To give yourself the best chance of success around here, you must be prominent.

1.50 Cartmel

The complete outsider of the party in this race seems to be the forgotten horse. Ballyfarsoon has two ways of running but if on a going day could make all in this five runner field. The 10-year-old ran well at Aintree last month and was only narrowly beaten at Carlisle from 2lb lower in April. He has every chance and could get a soft lead here.

4.10 Cartmel

Tonto’s Spirit is a very game front runner so it is no surprise to see that he is a four-time course and distance winner. The gelding won back-to-back handicaps here in May and June and only narrowly failed to land the hat-trick in better grade that this at the end of June. He looks set to give it another good shot.

4.45 Cartmel

Dr Robin is a temperamental sort and certainly has two ways of running but if he is on a going day he is a big player. He was only beaten two lengths in 4th here in May but won three times here on the trot last summer. It is clearly a track he loves and a big revival would be no surprise for an in-form yard.
