20-1 and a pair of 16-1 tips: three Willie Mullins horses under the Cheltenham radar 🤩

Willie Mullins at the 2018 Cheltenham Festival

Willie Mullins has had another fantastic year so far and has been absolutely dominant. As if he didn’t have a good enough Cheltenham Festival last year, the maestro looks set to have an even better one this year. It’s tricky to find horses trained by Mullins at bigger odds as a result. We’ve found three Willie Mullins outsiders that could outrun their prices at Cheltenham.

Supreme Novices’ Hurdle

Hunters Yarn has been earmarked by Mullins as a likely runner in this race. Currently available at 16-1, he could well prove to be much better than those odds suggest. Owned by Simon Munir and Isaac Souede, he was an impressive winner of a maiden hurdle at Naas two starts ago. He then comfortably dispatched Imagine, who is a big talking horse for the handicaps, last time out. One thing he’ll need to sharpen up on is his jumping but that should be an easy fix.

Mares’ Hurdle

Shewearsitwell has gone a bit under the radar for this race and perhaps isn’t getting the respect she deserves. If all the big guns line up, this could be one of the most competitive races of the week. She’s a progressive mare and got the better of Queens Brook in good style at Leopardstown last time out. There could well be more improvement to come from this mare and if so, she’s well capable of running a huge race.

Mares’ Chase

Dolcita has been consistent this season and easily dispatched Elimay and Scarlet And Dove at Clonmel two starts ago. Those two finished first and third respectively in last year’s renewal of this race and Dolcita has to be in with a shout on that evidence. Second in a Grade 3 last time, she was 48 lengths clear of the third and will be primed for this target.
