How did we do it?
Our Acca got rolling in the first race of the day at Salisbury. Sharp Defence was a warm order in the market backed into 4/5 from 6/4 when we tipped.
- Sharp Defence got a lovely tow into the race stalking the leading pair all the way into the final 2 furlongs before quickening up nicely on the rail and staying on strongly to get us on the board!
- Adamant, tipped at 6/4, We were extremely confident in Adamant so much so that it was a contender for NAP of the day. We got a bit of a shock when Ryan Moore began shaking the reigns on his mount a full 5 furlongs from home before being fully scrubbed and under full pump. But credit to one of the world’s best he knew exactly what was needed, he was Adamant he wouldn’t be beaten!
- Somehow came into today with a decent run last time and looked sure to strip better for it. Tipped up at 13/8 we had a nervous wait for the O’Brien charge to land our acca, this wasn’t made any easier by the fact that Laganore was very well backed from 11/1 into 11/2 very quickly. The gamble managed to grab the lead 2 from home while Somehow was caught in behind two horses and was forced to go for a very small gap between runners. Both the horse & jockey Seamie Heffernan were very brave to take the chance and got their just rewards by landing the spoils and in doing-so landed our Acca. BOOOM!
