12.36pm Crayford Race Preview 25/08/2018

Crayford Greyhound Racing

A double card on Saturday at Crayford sees two of our myracing.com Syndicate Greyhounds aiming for glory. Droopys Hyde gets his chance again to show what he’s made of over 540m before Droopys Nuka takes her chance over the 380m trip.

Today’s preview comes from one of our syndicate managers, David Mitchell.

Today’s Syndicate Runner

Trap 2 Droopys Hyde – Hyde makes his return to the 6 bend trip which should suit him much better than the sharp 380m. He has plenty of boot from the boxes and after his recent second place finish he should be raring to go. The dog in T1 could scupper his plans if he misses the kick but if he does get a flyer there is no reason why he can’t run a big one.

Today’s Opponents

Trap 1 Out Of Hawaii – Has plenty of early boot and is very rarely led up over this trip. Has moved through the grades in the last few weeks and this is a step-up in quality again. He’s a dog in-form and he must be respected, if he can reproduce last weeks effort he’ll surely be there at the finish.

Trap 3 Karma Chameleon – Very little is known about this dog since the switch from Towcester due to that track closing. Crayford is a hard track to fathom first time up and this dog wouldn’t scream the type to instantly take to it. We’ll be happy to take this dog on in this field and keep a watchful eye on how she performs.

Trap 4 Monagea Katie – Connections have had some fun with this dog moving her from 8 bends to 6 regularly. There is pros and cons attached to following this dog. She lacks the early pace which would be a concern here, however she stays better than anything in this race. If she were to clear it could be interesting but this race looks laden with early pace, that would put us off.

Trap 5 Guvnas Dream – Like T3 this dog is arriving from Towcester and we have little to go on. She wasn’t a high grade there but she is young so you can expect improvement. She has enough early kick to make her presence and she’s stayed a trip at Towcester. If she took to the track she could be interesting but due to the lack of track knowledge we’ll give her a miss.

Trap 6 Active Saturn– Old hand who beat T5 in her last race at Towcester. She looks a through stayer and this trip should suit her. The draw is perfect for her and if she could avoid the early trouble she would be of huge interest. Of the newcomers to Crayford she would be the most interesting but like the others we couldn’t throw much weight behind her in this race.

Droopys Hyde has a cracking chance here lets hope he clears T1 and gets us off to a flyer today ready for Droopys Nuka to hit the track a little later in the day.
