12.36pm Crayford Race Preview 05/01/2018

Greyhound Racing Tips Image

Our second runner on the card at Crayford today is the first winner the syndicate had, Droopys Nuka. She looks to kick off 2018 in the best possible way with an A5 victory. Romford is the track of choice for our greyhound tips today, they will be on the site before 6.30pm.

12.36pm Crayford 05/01/2018 A5 Grade

Yacht Julie – Winner in this grade in mid December, she moved off badly on the run-up there. She doesn’t have too much early but when she does, she’s a danger to all drawn to her right. 24.14 is her quickest time which really shouldn’t be good enough here.

Newinn Bling – Ex top grade Yarmouth bitch never really took to Henlow. She makes her Crayford debut this afternoon, clocking a solid trial last time despite missing the kick. Looks capable of better but will need to clear the 1 early to win.

Briannes Diamond – Multiple A6 winner, she has struggled in the past when competing at this level. A very inconsistent trapper, she can produce some very smart sectionals but she cannot be relied upon to hit the lids. Good chance of leading up inside if she comes away.

Islay Tommy – Not learnt the art of trapping yet but he has shown the all round speed required to be better than this grade sooner rather than later. Twice behind Yacht Julie of late, will need a slice of luck in running to pick his way through from the back.

Droopys Nuka – Still hasn’t quite got her trapping boots back but paced up well last time, only run out of things late on. Orange has never been her preferred draw but this race is hardly full of early pace so she may get away with it. This will be her third run back from a break so approaching peak fitness, she should be right in the mix.

Rough Lexi – Lightly raced type produced a career best to land an A6 last time out. She chopped the field off at the second bend there so Nuka will need to be on her game to make sure she gets a clear run. Lexi looks capable of further improvement.

Conclusion

Not the strongest A5 in the world and one without an awful lot of early pace. Nuka has never been suited by 5 but with so little average early in here, she looks to have a solid chance. Both 4 and 6 are lightly raced types who look sure to be better than this grade in time, though neither look drawn to have the run of the race here. 1 can be a nightmare of a hound when she traps so the inside need to clear her early or she will wipe them out moving right.
