11.23 Crayford Race Preview 26/08/2017

Greyhound Racing Tips - Crayford

A welcome return to the track for Droopys Hyde as he looks to make up for lost time returning from an injury. He finds himself a fair way behind the two girls but hopefully he will have done a bit of growing up in the time he has been away from the track. Our greyhound tips will be on the site later on this afternoon for Crayford’s evening card. Let’s break down the task in front of Hyde.

11.23am Crayford 26th August A7 Grade

Knockglass Rose – Nearing veteran stage now but she has not been out of the first three in her last thirteen races. She landed a win in this grade on the 3rd of August, coming back down following a brief spell in A6. She doesn’t possess an awful lot of early but her consistency means that she is sure to be on the premises at some point.

Fawkham Mercedes – Was as high as A4 at the turn of the year, she sank all the way down to bottom grade before she picked up the winning thread earlier this month. She is another not renowned for her early pace but she stays this 380m trip strongly and 15 weeks post season, she is going to be popular.

Droopys Hyde – A big baby, he has yet to produce anything as solid as his third on debut in race action. He was injured when barrelling over another dog at the first bend at the start of July, returning from a break on the sidelines when ending up base over apex once more in a trial. Tried from 3 instead of 1 in a pair of subsequent trials he has looked solid in clocking 23.86 and 23.92, but he is still hard to support with any confidence until he proves he has some trackcraft.

Moyeedy Alice – Picked up an A8 at the start of June, she has been plying her trade over six bends more recently. She is distinctly lacking in early pace so she won’t be a factor in the early stages, a best time over this trip of 24.16 suggesting that she is going to need a messy race in front for her to be able to get involved.

Wolseleys Jazz – Sent off 6/4 favourite in this grade on the 11th of August, she justified the short price comfortably. She is thoroughly exposed these days and a slightly better trapper when clad in stripes. She is however a recent winner at this level so she demands respect even if she needs to be close to her best to win this.

Pure Product – Showed plenty of pace in trials when grading in, slotting into A4 level to start his career. He is now 0/9, beating just a single dog home in his last four races, quickly sliding down the grades to this level. He has a little early, mid 3.60’s but that might actually be enough to turn handy in a race devoid of pace to the bend. He will find his level eventually and is worth watching in the market.

Conclusion

A race with very little early pace across the line-up could be the ticket to helping Hyde’s confidence, but he has shown so little trackcraft and common sense in his runs so far, that he is difficult to support even in a race that should be set up perfectly for him. 6 is another in need of a confidence boost and there is only so far down the grades that he can fall now. 1 is always there or thereabout, a winner in this grade earlier in the month, she looks a solid forecast/tricast mixer to build around but 2 looks the one to beat. 15 weeks out of season, having been far higher in the past, she is going to be popular with punters.
