11.16am Crayford Race Preview 12/06/2018

Brighton and Hove Greyhounds Stadium

On Tuesday, June 13th, 2017 the myracing greyhound syndicate had their first ever winner when Droopys Nuka bolted up on her debut. A year on and another newcomer for the syndicate makes her debut on Crayford’s Tuesday BAGS card. Jacobs Fire was named last autumn live on RPGTV in a naming competition in aid of GOSH and the Crayford Homefinders charities. Having broken into season just as she was about to hit the track, her debut has been delayed until now! Our greyhound tips will be live by 6.00pm tonight with Sheffield the track of choice.

11.16am Crayford 12/06/2018 A5 Grade

Trap 1 Yacht Julie – Tends to trap better out of 2, her last 3 wins all coming when clad in blue. Won at this level last month, getting a quick drop from A4. She stays this trip well so would be dangerous if able to come away better than is usually the case from the inside.

Trap 2 Cronody Flash – Unexposed youngster arrives looking for a hat-trick after victories in A7 and A6. He has plenty of early pace but has looked vulnerable close home so far in his races. Should be competitive on the clock and has a decent draw.

Trap 3 Ballygibbon Man – Slow starting strong runner kept warm company when he was trained in Ireland. Just 1/20 since moving to Crayford, his form is full of runs where he just failed to get up. A bit further would suit ideally, needs the leaders to fall in a hole.

Trap 4 Jacobs Fire – Is yet to show any early pace in her races, but she has been steadily improving her sectionals each time she has gone to the traps. Naturally, still a baby so don’t want to expect too much first time, but on her trial clockings, she should be in the mix with a clear run.

Trap 5 Zigga Zagga – Connections didn’t wait long before stepping this bitch up to 540m, winning an S6 when last seen. She has the odd burst of early pace but lacks consistency. A danger to all if coming away given that she stays further, a solid second at this level the time before.

Trap 6 Pesky Captain – Was A8 in mid-April, three wins since have seen him climb to his highest point on the ladder so far at Crayford. Has very little in the way of early boot but he is another who stays this trip well so trouble in front could bring him into play, for all that he needs a career best.

Conclusion

Not the toughest A5 ever run, a repeat of her 23.92 trial two efforts ago would see Jacobs Fire in with a shot at debut glory. There are a number of strong runners in here so this should be a good test of her both in the race and on the run to the pickup to see how strong she is, shaping as if a shade further may suit in time in her trials. 2 looks the obvious leader, it’s just a matter of whether anything can turn clean behind to pick him up again.
