11.06am Crayford Race Preview 05/05/2018

Crayford Greyhound Racing

It’s another double header at Crayford on Saturday as both Droopys Nuka and Meenagh Mourinho are in race action, Nuka this morning and Jose tonight. The eyes of the racing world will still be on Towcester, you can see our Greyhound Derby Tips on the site. Our greyhound tips for tonight will naturally come from the final day of the first round heats of the Greyhound Derby, but for now, it is all about the myracing greyhound syndicate.

11.06am Crayford 05/05/2018 A6 Grade

Mineola Flash – As high as A3 last month after going through a hot spell, she has slipped back to more where she should be. She was flying high on her overall times, not a regular under 24 seconds, she will need things to drop right if she is to beat these.

Bill The Ranger – Solid early for this level, he should have no issues controlling the inside early. He ran well on Saturday night, runner-up to a dog down to the lowest level of his career. A repeat of that 23.73 would make him very hard to beat.

Its A Wonder – A beaten favourite in this grade the last twice, he tends to do his best work from halfway. A regular in the 23.80/90 region, he would be a big player if he were to turn handy given how well he stays this trip.

Hatfield Derek – Young pup who had things drop right for him two starts back in A6, running well at this level on Saturday night. He will find this tougher with 2 and 6 quick to the turn, but he gave the distinct impression he’s capable of being a few grades higher than this in time.

Whats Lily Upto – Slow starter stays this trip strongly. She won in this grade at the end of March and like the 3 is a hound that would be a danger if turning on the speed. She lacks the times in the book in general though unless there is trouble in front.

Droopys Nuka – Spring weather with some sun on her back has done Nuka the power of good. A winner twice in her six runs since coming back from a break, she has stepped forward well. Was close to her best last time, a repeat of that wouldn’t have her too far away, with a slow starter inside in 5 a big plus.

Conclusion

Stripes on her back and a slow starter in 5 are ideal conditions for Nuka to be seen at her best. She won at this level last July so she is well capable, with her 23.82 triumph last Saturday her third best race time. This won’t be easy as the 2 should control the inside and the 4 gives the impression that he is a pup with plenty more in the tank, but she should get herself involved in the finish if coming away in her best fashion.
