A late night for the myracing greyhound syndicate with both runners at the end of the card. For those wanting bets earlier in the evening, our greyhound tips will be up this afternoon, nearly £420 in profit for July at the halfway point of the month. Read on for our expert runner by runner preview for Droopys Dazzle’s race.

10.11pm Crayford 15th July A5 Grade

Aghareany Magpie – Youngster comes here on the back of a hat-trick, including in this grade last week. She only clocked 23.94 there, so the grader has decided that she doesn’t need to be upgraded for that triumph. That was a career best, but despite the recent wins, she needs to up that form considerably to score again here.

Rocky The Legend – Pup finally gave his supporters some relief last week when pinging the lids and absolutely skating up in an A6. He had been beaten favourite four times in five races before that, so connections clearly believe he has plenty of ability. That win was four lengths above anything else he has done, but if that has unlocked his potential, he is very much the one to beat.

Pure Pepe – Pup has shown promise in his three races in this grade, without being able to get his head in front. He strikes more as a long term prospect for 6 bends, but it went close two runs back in 23.68 which would give him a chance here if able to turn close enough to the pace to bring his stamina into play.

Park Verdy – Has picked up a pair of A6 contests in quick times this year, but has struggled when faced with this level. She is inconsistent from the traps but does have plenty of sub 3.60 sectionals, which make her more of a problem for Dazzle drawn outside her that to the rest of the field as a win prospect.

Droopys Dazzle – Her trapping has got progressively better, clocking a 3.62 last time out, but she has struggled to get a run round the opening turn in this grade. Bumped early the twice that she has been seen in this trap, she seems desperate to get back closer to the middle. If 4 comes away, she could be in for another rocky ride early, if she doesn’t her chance increases hugely.

Droopys Bride – Another who looks like she will benefit from a little further in time, she doesn’t boast much early pace but sees out this 380 trip well. She has her quirks (already marked awkward) and is going to have to put in a career best if she is going to get anywhere close to them tonight.

Conclusion

Clearly the 2 is well regarded as he has been heavily supported each time. He finally cashed in last week when putting it all together, a similar performance tonight should see him home in front. Dazzle has a slow starter to her outside and an inconsistent one inside. She has improved her sectionals steadily, so with a bit of luck and a slow start from 4, she would have half a chance to get back on the bunny. 3 is strong over this trip and isn’t one that we want to turn too close, but the 2 looks the one to beat.
