1.49pm Crayford Race Preview 04/09/2018

Meenagh Mourinho

Meenagh Mourinho returns from injury today for the myracing.com Greyhound Syndicate at Crayford. Let’s take a look at his chances in this trappy looking A2 contest.

Today’s preview comes from one of our syndicate managers, David Mitchell.

Today’s Syndicate Runner

Trap 5 Meenagh Mourinho – Jose has been off the track for around 4 weeks since his fall at the first bend at Crayford. He had a trial last Thursday which was very good considering the time he has had off. Today he’s looking at striking first time up and if he was to fly the lids he would have a great chance. The only negative would be the draw, he’s a much better dog from T6 and he hasn’t won from T5 since January. A race under his belt and a safe run round would please his owners here.

Today’s Opponents

Trap 1 Cronody Flash – Decent strike rate from this draw and comes here in-form. He’s a young dog that has gone through the grades quite quickly and this race would need a career best. We would give him a chance here if all the cards fall right.

Trap 2 Silvus Raven – Like trap one she has a decent strike rate from this inside draw and he recent 23.66 at the start of August is an excellent run for this grade. She’ll need a better break from the boxes but if she does she’ll have a good chance of making her presence felt.

Trap 3 Pass Remarkable – 23.53 is an great recent run and would be the standout piece of form in this race. He is a talented dog that seems to be improving with age. If he was to produce a 3.60 split and get a clear run he could run a big one here.

Trap 6 Whats Kath Upto – Ran some nice races since arriving from Ireland. She’s on a hat-trick today but this is another step up in class for her. She would probably need a sub 23.70 run to take this which would be a personal best for her. We can’t take this dog lightly considering her form but this could be one step too far.

Jose is going to find life difficult from this draw and with the dogs inside looking to be in great form he could have to go the long way round. We would just like to see him get a time on the clock and walk off injury free with much bigger days ahead for him. T3 looks to have the best chance in this and if that dog can clear the inside he will take the beating.
