1.07pm Crayford Race Preview 31/08/2018

Crayford Greyhound Racing

Another action packed day for the myracing.com Greyhound Syndicate with two runners on the card at Crayford. Droopys Nuka is up first looking to put some below par efforts behind her.

Today’s preview comes from one of our syndicate managers, David Mitchell.

Today’s Syndicate Runner

Trap 6 Droopys Nuka – The wheels seemed to have fallen off at the minute for Nuka after some stunning efforts at the end of July. This drop in class is going to help her today and we think she looks to have a live chance at this level. Drawn out in trap 6 is where she is most effective and a slick exit could pay dividends here. She’s capable of a 23.70 run and if she produces that today she’ll be there at the finish.

Today’s Opponents

Trap 1 Kereight Jude – Stepping back in trip after campaigning for a long time over 6 bends at Crayford. The last time we seen him at 380m was back in late June where he won by a short head in a nice time. If he can hold on to their coat-tails today he’ll be finishing off his race better than anything. Chance.

Trap 2 Scala Mags – Recent effort was extremely encouraging, finishing second stopping the clock in a sub 24 second time. That drop in grade has really helped this bitch and connections will surely fancy her chances today. She’s in-form and she has a touch of class. If she can grab the lead early it’ll take a good one to beat her at this level.

Trap 3 Monagea Cross – Another that has really enjoyed a drop in grade recently hitting the cross bar on two out of his last three races. His recent effort was the best in a long time and a victory is surely not too far away. He has a decent record at this level and if he can serve it up early he’ll have a shout.

Trap 4 Ballymac Mofarr – Bred to be decent and this young dog could be a little bit better than this grade. He produced a stunning 23.45 which earned him a double upgrade, which was fully deserved. If he can produce anything remotely close to that he’ll dot up in this field. He’s young, he’s hungry and for us he’s the worthy favourite.

Trap 5 Rouge Rascal – Better over the 540m trip than 380m but connections will be happy she’s been given a chance at a weaker level. She’s a minor open class bitch over 6 bends but she just lacks that early toe to really threaten at this trip. If she was to hold on to them as they go down the far side it would be interesting but her better days are over further for us.

This is a difficult race for Nuka with the dog in 4 looking the most likely winner on paper. It would take a huge swing in form to really challenge but she does have the draw and the form in the book to lay it down. If a few of these don’t put it all in today she has a chance, albeit a slim one.
