The Cheltenham Festival is an important part of the sporting calendar – with over 250,000 people flocking to Prestbury Park over the four-day meeting. Our guide will provide an answer to the question “What do I wear to the Cheltenham Festival?”

What are the do’s and don’t do’s regarding the dress code?

Unlike some of the major flat meetings, Cheltenham is less strict in regard to the dress code. But with the races in March, it is appropriate to dress for the weather. Fancy dress is banned from the Club Enclosure, but it is allowed in the Best Mate area – as long as it is not offensive.

The general dress code for men in the Club Enclosure is trousers or smart jeans, boots, a shirt, and a coat/jacket. Ties and hats are often worn to accompany. Women will wear suits or dresses.

If rainfall is forecast, umbrellas and raincoats should also be considered.
