Cheltenham Guide

Situated in the picturesque county of Gloucestershire at Prestbury Park, Cheltenham hosts some of the best jump racing in the UK and is one of the most famous National Hunt venues in the world. We have tips for every meeting which always attracts an abundance of quality, from their opening Showcase Meeting in October, to the final race day in April. Cheltenham boasts a plethora of graded contests throughout the season with 14 at the highest level at the famous festival in March, known as ‘The Greatest Show On Turf’.

Course: There are two tracks at Cheltenham, the Old Course and the New Course. They are both left-handed, testing circuits with the former a mile and a half and the latter half a furlong longer. The hurdles tracks are quite different as on the New Course, there are only two hurdles in the final seven furlongs which makes it more a test of stamina. At the Festival, the Old Course is used on the first two days with the New Course playing host the final couple of days.
