Well handicapped Prescott runner at Bath

It’s not too often you see a horse trained by the shrewd Sir Mark Prescott running off a mark of 46 but Favourite Friend (7.42) runs off just that in the 1m2f handicap at Bath and it would be no surprise at all if he delivered in style. He was well beaten in a trio of novices last summer but finished a creditable sixth on handicap debut over 1m4f at Wolverhampton last month having been given a forceful ride. Cheekpieces go on here for the first time and he must be respected.

Colin Keane with one ride at York

Colin Keane has just one ride for his bosses at York on Wednesday as Legacy Link (4.05) holds strong claims in the Group 3 Musidora over 1m2f. A sister to the incredible Frankel, she built on her debut third at Newmarket last year when going on to land the odds in a Haydock maiden next time, well-backed on the day. Her inexperience proved costly when fourth behind Precise in the Group 1 bet365 Fillies’ Mile in October but she was the one to take out of the race and much better can be expected of her at three.

Aidan O’Brien also throws one dart at York

Moments Of Joy (4.05) also takes her chance in the Musidora and she has to be mentioned because she is Ballydoyle’s sole representative on the day at York. Aidan O’Brien’s filly hit the frame in Listed and Group 3 company last season but she has two lengths to make up on Legacy Link as she was fifth in the Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket on her penultimate start. She disappointed on heavy ground on her return but should at least have race-fitness on her side.
