2.50pm Yarmouth Tips & Betting Preview 13/09/2016

Our race preview takes a look at a good looking Nursery Handicap at Yarmouth. See our betting tips below to find a Johnston horse who is improving markedly with every run, and should be feared by all.

IN SUMMARY: A very tricky Nursery can go the way of STAR OF THE EAST. Johnston’s colt easily beat Zymyran last time out with a good front running ride. Although that rival gets a 7lb pull, he was eased in the closing stages and has improved with every run, so his yard will be hopeful that he can now go from strength to strength. Perhaps the biggest danger will come from Vanity Queen who is a filly on the up with a Group 1 entry, with her being preferred to Hurricane Rush who is being aimed at the Racing Post Trophy.

1 HURRICANE RUSH – Got his head in front finally when winning a maiden at Epsom in August (7f, Good). That was a good display and has solid foundations to continue going from strength to strength. Has a speculative entry in the Racing Post Trophy and should run well provided things drop right for him (hold up horse).

2 CELESTIAL SPHERES – 2nd on latest start at Goodwood (8f, Good) to a subsequent nursery winner. Ran respectably on all his other starts but isn’t making the progress that Appleby would possibly like, with all his runs being pretty similar. Needs a jolt of progress against some pretty progressive types.

3 VANITY QUEEN – 2nd on latest start in a Newmarket Nursery (8f, Good to Firm) when trying to follow up her Nottingham Maiden where she just about justified favouritism (8.5f Good to Firm). Again, she doesn’t look the most progressive type but her pedigree suggests there could be more to come and she has to be a respected.

4 STAR OF THE EAST – Has been improving markedly with every run, latest when running out an easy winner in an Epsom Maiden (8.5f, Good). She was given a soft lead that day and used it to devastating effect, showing a nice turn of foot to put the race to bed easily. He should have more to give for the Johnston yard. There aren’t any other pace angles in the race, so he should get the easy lead he desires, where he can once again control a small field from the front. Should take all the beating.

5 ZYMYRAN – Beaten 3l by Star Of The East latest when that rival was eased in the closing stages at Epsom (8.5f, Good). Has a 7lb pull with that rival but that may not be enough as he is improving massively with every single run. Saying that Simcock’s colt hasn’t been running badly without showing much marked progress from start to start, probably vulnerable.

6 KING’S COINAGE – Hasn’t exactly been setting the world on fire in his opening three runs, latest when 5th of 9 on the All Weather at Chelmsford (7f, St). Open to progress now upped in trip on his handicap debut, but this seems to be an uphill task against some nice looking types.

myracing Forecast Prices: 2/1 Hurricane Rush, 11/4 Vanity Queen, 3/1 Star Of The East, 4/1 Celestial Spheres, 6/1 Zymyran, 12/1 King’s Coinage
