‘All four of them love York’ – Monster horses for courses Saturday Lucky 15 🍀

Roaring Lion and Oisin Murphy after winning the Juddmonte International at York 2018

Course form can be absolutely crucial when looking for a winner. If you know your way around a place, you are going to have an advantage over somebody who has never been there before. The same applies to horses – knowing your way around a venue is always a big advantage. Adrian Wall has picked out four former course winners running live at York Racecourse on Saturday. The Lucky 15 returns massive odds. Best of luck if you have a play.

3.00 York

Tim Easterby is usually always good for a winner at York and it would be no shock if Art Power bounced back to form. He made all when bolting up in the Renaissance at the Curragh last September before finishing off his year with a solid fourth in the Champions Sprint at Ascot. Has won fresh in the past.

3.35 York

Gaassee is a hugely progressive son of Sea The Stars who won four races on the spin between October 2021 and May 2022, landing a sizeable gamble on his seasonal reappearance here over 1m4f. Would have finished closer to Get Shirty if he got out sooner when third in the Old Newton Cup and has a 3lb pull in the weights with that rival now.

4.10 York

My Wagyu won valuable handicap at Epsom and at the Curragh over in Ireland already this term, and was far from disgraced in the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood when last seen, just fading out of things in the closing stages. He has had a lot of racing this year, but is now 2lb lower and has a solid chance if he brings his best.

4.45 York

Thunder Moor is the only course winner in this field and that could count for a lot. Kevin Ryan’s runner bolted up over course and distance in May, landing a punt in the process, and his sights are lowered here after two efforts in Group company.
