IN SUMMARY: Dainty Dandy comes into this Listed race with the highest BHA mark, having finished a very creditable third in a 6f Ascot Group 3 last month. She is respected but today’s drop in trip is not certain to suit and some of these have the potential to improve past her. The suggestion is RAJAR, who made a rather uninspiring start to her career but appears to be making rapid progress now and won a valuable 6f Newmarket nursery quite comfortably on her latest outing. She also needs to prove she’s fully effective over today’s trip but can continue her winning spree. Mrs Danvers is another afforded significant respect, given she maintained her unbeaten record when winning a very valuable sales race over C&D last month.

Barroche – Has gained both wins on fast ground over 5f at Bath and may not have been suited by the testing conditions when midfield in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot in between; has a bit to find on the figures with some of these but still looks worth another crack at a Pattern race.

Dainty Dandy – Didn’t quite get home over 6f on good to soft ground when midfield at Royal Ascot in June but last month’s third in a Group 3 on fast ground back at Ascot was a very creditable performance; leading contender here if coping with the drop to 5f.

Equimou – Improved upon mildly encouraging debut when winning Chelmsford novice event (5f, AW) last month and took another good step forward when clear second to Tahoo in York nursery (5f, good to firm) a few days later; certainly not out of her depth here on that evidence and might have more to offer.

Grand Myla – Outran 66-1 odds when placed in a 6f Newmarket maiden last month, her second start, but that form is some way below the required standard here and she took a backward step when down the field at Goodwood on her latest outing.

Mrs Danvers – Went through the sales ring unsold at £1,000 in February but is unbeaten after three starts and beat a big field to land a very valuable prize in the Super Sprint over C&D (good to firm) on latest outing last month; an obvious one for the shortlist.

Rajar – Didn’t look anything out of the ordinary after first couple of outings but has displayed significant improvement to complete a 6f hat-trick since then, the latest success gained in valuable Newmarket nursery a fortnight ago; major player if suited by drop back to 5f here.

Savannah’s Dream – Belied 100-1 odds when second in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot (5f, soft) in June; won’t be far away if in the same form here but was a beaten odds-on favourite in a run-of-the-mill  Pontefract maiden when back on a sound surface last month.

Stop The Wages – Opened account at the fifth attempt, in small-field Lingfield maiden (5f, good to firm) a fortnight ago; might be able to use that success as a springboard but a significant leap forward is needed to get competitive at this level.

Stormy Clouds – Seemed badly to have lost her way after winning consecutive starts in spring but responded very well to first-time blinkers when staying-on second to Mrs Danvers in the Super Sprint over C&D (good to firm) last month; 4lb better off with that rival today but might have been flattered by the way that race panned out and it remains to be seen whether the headgear works a second time.

Tahoo – Two wins from first four starts, the more recent when staying on strongly to deny Equimou narrowly in a York nursery (5f, good to firm) three weeks ago; worse off at the weights with that rival here, though, and some of the others look stronger.

Tallulah Rose – Form of her win at Bath (5f, good to firm) in June is nothing to get too excited about but she stayed on well from off the pace to reach the frame in Group 3 event at Ascot (6f, good to firm) last month; over 1l behind Dainty Dandy there but has an each-way shout here.

myracing Forecast Prices: 7/2 Mrs Danvers, 4/1 Dainty Dandy, 5/1 Rajar, 8/1 Barroche, Equimou, Tallulah Rose, 10/1 Stormy Clouds, 12/1 Tahoo, 16/1 Savannah’s Dream, 33/1 Stop The Wages, 66/1 Grand Myla
