With Chepstow losing its battle with the weather, it’ll be just the three meetings on Wednesday. Musselburgh and Lingfield will host the afternoon action before Bellewstown takes over for a twilight finish.

We’ll have horse racing tips for all the action on a blustery Wednesday in the UK and Ireland! If you’re looking for some adventurous prices, I’ve gone hunting for some big catches and can present to you Wednesday’s Outsiders!

1.30 Musselburgh – Grandads Best Girl (50/1)

She’s yet to get her head into the placings since going handicapping, but there has been hints of promise from Grandads Best Girl. Her best run came on her sole seven-furlong start, where she was a close-up sixth at Ayr off three pounds higher.

She was closely matched with Dandys Angel that day, not getting the best of passages in the closing stages. Carrying a featherweight in this contest, it’s still very early days for her. Unexposed over the seven-furlong distance, further improvement over the trip is more than likely.

If she does take a step forward on her second handicap try of the distance, she’s on a lowly mark to capitalise.

4.15 Bellewstown – Benkogambit (100/1)

Although the bare figures won’t suggest it, Benkogambit‘s debut effort was more promising than it seemed. He badly missed the break and took a lot of stoking up to latch onto the back of the field. Ridden in last on the turn for home, he was checked when trying to make late progress through the field. When he did find a gap, he made some moderate headway into 13th.

He will have learned plenty from that introduction and stepping up to the mile distance looks a good move on paper. Granted, he does need sizeable improvement, but as a juvenile, a big step forward should be on the cards. A half-brother to both Lucky Lucky Man and Malakai, he should have far more to offer and has interesting each-way claims.

6.00 Lingfield – Parish Academy (20/1)

Sent off 40/1 for his course and distance debut, plenty went wrong for Parish Academy. He was squeezed out in the opening strides and dropped to last as a result. A sprint developed in the straight and few got into the race from behind, with Milton Bradley’s charge finishing with a rattle to take a never-nearer fourth.

That was a very pleasing introduction and there can be plenty of hope that he’ll step forward from that effort. A half-brother to four winners in the US, he’s going to do his best work on this surface and with that experience under his belt, far better can be expected today.
