Tuesday’s 52/1 Trainer Treble!

Brian Ellison's Snookered wins at Sedgefield on 5th September 2019

As the flat season comes to an end, the high-class action comes thick and fast. After Earthlight’s Middle Park success last Saturday, Newmarket once more plays host to a Group One with the Sun Chariot Stakes in which Laurens goes for back to back successes.

Another star mare will be bidding to complete a similar feat on Sunday, as Enable attempts to make history by winning the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe for the third successive time. The midweek Horse Racing, whilst not at the same level, is certainly not short of interesting contenders. Here’s a Tuesday Trainer Treble to hopefully start a profitable week for you all.

14:20 Ayr Eleuthera

The County Kildare based trainer Johnny Levins had nine runners at Ayr without a winner over the previous four seasons. The situation in 2019 could hardly be any different, with four of his five horses who made the journey across the Irish Sea landing the odds.

That includes the seven-year-old ELEUTHERA, who returned from a 281 day break to score by a neck over seven furlongs at the Scottish venue in July. He was ahead of two last time out winners on that occasion, with the third scoring twice since.

The drop down in trip should really present no issue with the slower ground placing a sterner emphasis on stamina. He does have to contend with a five pound higher mark and a step up in grade today, however Sean Kirrane’s claim offsets most of that. Receiving weight from the field, he should go very close to doubling up.

15:30 Sedgefield Snookered

Brian Ellison has always enjoyed success at Sedgefield racecourse, with thirty-six winners there over the past five years. 2019 has been a vintage year even for the yard’s high standards, who’ve sent twelve runners there with seven returning home with the spoils, including the last four.

His gelding SNOOKERED appears at home at the track, with his two runs seeing him finish second and first. After a respectable series of efforts on the level, he returned to hurdling with a clear cut success from two rivals well over a stone superior to him.

He was greatly improved on that occasion by the switch to front-running tactics, barely seeing another rival in the whole of the two-miles-one trip. With that first win over timber under his belt likely to have boosted his confidence, a six pound rise doesn’t look enough to stop him doubling up, and to stop Ellison’s string completing a five-timer at the track.

19:10 Kempton Dubrava

Roger Varian has thrived with his three-year-old handicappers at Kempton this year, with his daughter of Dansili DUBRAVA scoring back in August. She is one of twelve victories he’s had at the track in 2019, and further success looks a distinct possibility this evening.

Placed in her three previous All-Weather starts, she stayed on stoutly to win cosily over seven furlongs back in August. Having been outpaced coming into the home straight, she should greatly appreciate today’s extra distance.

Added to that is her pedigree which suggests she’ll find plenty more for the extra trip, related to a US Grade Three winner over eleven furlongs. Having beaten two subsequent winners then, one of whom has scored twice since, a five pound rise shouldn’t prevent her from scoring again.

The treble is available at 52/1, best priced at time of writing. Be sure to check out all our Horse Racing Tips for these three venues,  as well as from Cork and Southwell.
