Chantilly is an internationally known and renowned racecourse, racing since 1834 and featuring one of only a few All Weather tracks in France.

Chantilly Tips

The course hosts a number of significant meetings in the French calendar, including the third of the five French Classic races the Prix du Jockey Club.

Our tipsters will provide tips for Chantilly for all major meetings, and the myracing website will also carry racecards and comments from Racing Post for each of these races which can be found in our international horse racing section.

All Chantilly racing is flat racing, although jumps horses are trained at the nearby training centre. Entry in the week is a mere €5, and tickets rarely exceed €20 even for the biggest days of racing, making it an extremely enjoyable and affordable day out.

What tracks does Chantilly racecourse have?

Chantilly racecourse features an amazing five tracks:

  • The “Jockey Club” track; a 2,400 metre (one and a half mile) oval
  • A straight track of 1,200 metres (6 furlongs) for sprint races
  • A middle track for middle distance races
  • A round track for middle distance races
  • Since 2011, an All Weather track

Our Chantilly tips cover meetings on both the turf and the All Weather.

There are significant training facilities at Chantilly, making it a hub for French racing in a similar way to Newmarket racecourse is in the UK. The training centre does a number of open days each season, and with nearly half of all participants in races at Paris trained in this area it is a great opportunity to see some of the best horses in France.

Chantilly Major Races

The big races Chantilly racecourse hosts are:

  • Prix du Jockey Club – 2,100 metres (around 10 furlongs)
  • Prix de Diane – 2,100 metres (around 10 furlongs)

The former is open to 3 year old colts and takes place at the end of May. The latter to 3 year old fillies and takes place in the middle of June.
